Reliant Design Development Co Ltd
For more than ten years we have worked in partnership with Reliant Design Development Co Ltd, supplying test equipment for the civil and military aerospace sectors. Our main responsibility has been the design, configuration and commissioning of the resident control systems of each piece of test equipment.
The control systems have been mainly constructed using PLCs as the controllers with SCADA or HMIs provided the front end user interface. These projects include:
- Generator/GCU Test Rigs â€" Completed and Under Development electrical performance testing of the generator systems for Hawk, Harrier and Eurofighter Typhoon
- Liquid Conditioning Test Rigs â€" Environmental system mixing, supply and draining facility for Eurofighter Typhoon
- Pressure Test Rigs â€" A pressure delivery system for proof pressure and decay testing of part of the F35 Lightning II assembly, and a pressure delivery system for cockpit seal testing on the Harrier
- Bearing and Drive Shaft Performance Test Rigs â€" Various test rigs to performance test bearing and drive shaft components on the Tornado including a moving mounting table for a bearing assembly to simulate flight paths, and Torque/Rotation delivery system to verify the assembly/repair of drive shafts
- Electrical Actuator Assembly Test Rigs â€" A test system to fully test electrically and functionally the assembly of semi-rotary electrical actuators for the Boeing 787
These projects have included automated test routines for minimal operator workload, along with reporting and trending systems for data analysis. Each of the reporting systems has been designed at source code level within the PLC and SCADA systems, to fully meet the individual requirements of each piece of test equipment
